Summer Evening Float
A relaxed way to spend a few hours on the Yellowstone after the heat of the day. Evening light settles in, boat traffic thins out, and you often get the softer window when fish slide toward banks, seams, and foam lines.
This is one of the best short-format trips on the website for anglers who want real fishing time without committing to a full day. It also works well for couples, travelers with daytime plans, and mixed groups where one person may want to fish and the other may simply want to ride and enjoy the river.
Evening Float Rate: $600
Plan on roughly 3–4 hours total including launch, fishing, and pull-out. Most trips start around 5:00 PM, though exact timing can shift a little with light, weather, and the section of river we want to fish.
The rate is for the boat, not per person. It is a simple way to get a real Yellowstone float without booking a full day.
Drift boat, rods, flies, terminal tackle, and all basic fishing gear are included. Light snacks and drinks are on the boat, and we usually keep an extra layer or rain gear available if the evening cools off.
Montana summer evenings can change quickly. Bring a light jacket, sunglasses, and any personal layers you like to fish in.
- Anglers who want a shorter Yellowstone River trip
- Travelers with daytime plans in Livingston or Paradise Valley
- Couples looking for a relaxed evening on the river
- One angler plus one non-fishing rider
- Returning anglers who want a second outing without booking another full day
Evening is often the most comfortable part of a hot summer day. Light gets softer, temperatures back off, and the river settles into a better rhythm.
Some nights bring a visible hatch and some do not, but the pace, the setting, and the chance to catch a good late window make this one of the more enjoyable Yellowstone trips on the calendar.
